District Maintenance Foreman
Parks & Recreation Facilities / Water & Sewer Facilities
POSITION OVERVIEW
The District Maintenance Foreman is responsible to the District Manager for all aspects of maintenance, repair and minor construction of the Water District parks & recreation facilities, 34 acre park, water/sewer facilities and supervision of maintenance employee’s. Operator & supervisor in the operation of various maintenance equipment, repair and minor construction of the Water District parks & recreation facilities, 34 acre park and water/sewer facilities. Performs & supervises all types of grounds and facility maintenance, repair and minor construction of various District facilities and structures. Assists the District Manager in maintaining stocked fishing lakes, the setup, break down and cleanup for special events and performs other related duties as assigned by the District Manager.
JOB DUTIES
Responsible to the District Manager, supervises maintenance employees, conducts & supervises routine grounds & facility maintenance, conducts & supervises various construction projects, conducts & supervises in setup/break down for special events (Festivals, 5K Runs, Boy & Girl Scout events and various other recreation events):
Operate various types of vehicles, light and medium maintenance, construction, and/or repair equipment including but not limited to push mowers, zero-turn mowers, tractors, skid-steer, utility vehicles, boats, chipper, boom sprayer, brush hog, bucket attachment, chain saws, weed eaters, blowers, welders, and other power tools.
Hands on supervision with maintenance employee’s with the following:
Mow and maintain lawns, flowerbeds, turf & wooded areas
Remove and dispose of trash and debris from grounds & lakes
Maintain granite, dirt and concrete trails
Maintain various facility board, chain-link and stone fences
Clean and maintain public restroom facilities
Clean and maintain facility tennis courts, gym and pool areas
Interacts with park patrons and facility members
Interacts with water & sewer operators and contractors
Perform garden/landscape applications to include pesticide, herbicide and fertilizer
Perform lake management to include fish feeders, herbicide, trash removal
Perform soil and turf management
Perform maintenance, construction, and repair of various buildings, structures, and public facilities
Perform construction and/or renovation of park, recreation facility and water district spaces
Perform minor plumbing repairs; assists in maintaining & repairing irrigation systems
Perform cleanup & maintenance of rental pavilions, picnic areas & rental clubhouse
Perform in setting up tents, tables, chairs, inflatables & trash for special events
Perform & supervise other related duties as assigned or required
Supervise maintenance employee’s, schedules and routine
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Three (3) years Foreman/Supervisor Experience
Two (2) years parks/grounds maintenance and/or other related experience is required.
Two (2) year’s operating light to medium equipment is required (skid steer, backhoe, trackhoe).
Two (2) year’s shop and tool management/inventory/maintenance/repair
Current herbicide/pesticide applicator license
Current CPI (Certified Playground Safety Inspector) or ability to certify after hiring
Valid Texas Driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
Clean pre-employment drug screening

SALARY & BENEFITS
Starting Salary: (DOQ&E).
Paid accrual vacation days (PTO) after probationary period (15 days under 5 yrs, 21 days after 5 yrs).
Paid holiday’s (10 days per year)
Paid employee Medical, Dental, Vision after probationary period.
Occasional employee bonuses & awards.
40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, some weekends and holidays.
Occasional overtime authorized.

This is a “hands on” foreman position and will require manual labor and certain physical abilities (walking, running, climbing, standing, lifting, digging, driving, etc.)
Position is for a “long term” employee, but does not include any upward mobility or advancement other than occasional raises, bonuses and additional “company paid” certifications
