Title: Senior Logistics Manager
Summary of the role: The Logistics Manager serves as the point of contact for Engineered Equipment shipment methodologies to support Project requirements and schedules. In a nutshell your job is to work with a project manager to create the transportation plan for industrial construction projects in the Houston and Freeport Texas areas. You will:
•Evaluate and recommend transportation modes (including international shipping if required) to support each project.
•Coordinate routing and shipments with external authorities and agencies as required.
•Develop and gain approval for the Project Logistics Plan by all applicable parties.
•Interface and coordinate shipments and routing with internal departments, external agencies, project clients, project partners, and suppliers.
•Coordinate and communicate delivery schedules and requirements with Materials Management and Project Management.
•Monitor and report on shipping schedules, transportation costs and metrics of the Project Logistics Plan.
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
•Participate in Project Proposal team meetings to determine logistics requirements.
•Work closely with Proposal team (to include Procurement and Materials Management) on routing requirements and obstacles; establish Project Transportation Plan.
•Coordinate with Project Procurement Manager(s) on volume, origin and schedule of transportation requirements.
•Determine, coordinate and communicate transportation and routing requirements with partners or clients as applicable.
•Coordinate and communicate transportation and routing requirements with external agencies and/or authorities as required.
• Integrate transportation requirements with third party logistics providers as applicable.
•Knowledgeable on eco-terms, import/export requirements, regulations and documentation.
•Knowledgeable on contract obligations and language concerning freight.
•Coordinate and communicate with project expeditors concerning transportation and schedules.
•Conduct transportation meetings (as needed).
Skills Required: You must be capable of juggling many details and communicate effectively to multiple internal and external groups. Strong organizational skills are required and the individual must be versatile, strategic, and innovative. You must be proactive and sensitive to the time-critical nature of logistics plans and their execution and be able to effectively expedite resolutions from internal and external personnel while maintaining strong rapport and open communication. This role requires an individual with the personality and ability to obtain cooperation without creating a climate of threat. A strong background in logistics and transportation management is a requirement. Likely backgrounds include military or commercial logistics and/or transportation experience with relevant knowledge about or experience in various transportation operations management.
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is strongly recommended, but not required for this role. Applicants should have a minimum of five years’ experience in logistics management; however 10-15 is preferred. Strong preference will be given to applicants with a background in supporting major industrial construction projects. Background with an EPC firm is also strongly preferred.
Locations: The Logistics Manager will have varied work locations, including significant time at your home office or project assignments, and engineering offices as required. Time may also be required at equipment or transportation provider facilities. The construction projects you manage will be located in Freeport TX; however you can easily reside in Houston or San Antonio TX. You will be paid per diem if you do need to travel for work.

Ideally, in 5 years’ time you will be a director at the corporate office and in 10, a vice president.
