Purpose: Provide design details for power generation auxiliary equipment assemblies including gas purity monitoring, hydrogen gas dryers, generator condition monitoring, and custom projects combining several technologies. Responsibilities include following design standards, developing component specifications and electrical circuit designs, including PCB design and analysis. The desired candidate will be capable of taking part in complex design projects from concept through production, and developing electronics design packages and software solutions that meet or exceed hazardous location design requirements.
Core Responsibilities:
• Execute design tasks on specific projects from point of order through delivery, installation and startup.
• Develop design concept drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, piping assemblies, and controls. Define and review top level assemblies, schematics, outlines, wiring diagrams and P&ID’s in accordance with project contractual requirements.
• Contribute to process improvement, product development, product certification, and efficiency gains through sound engineering practice. Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
• Assemble electrical/mechanical systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electro-mechanical principles. Write and conduct test plans and analyze test data utilizing sound engineering practice. Requires use of hand tools and instruments.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, required.
• A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a relevant Engineering discipline and demonstrated proficiency with C programming language on micro controller based electronics is required.
• A demonstrated aptitude in the design/build/test of complex electro/mechanical assemblies and experience with PCB layout is desired.
