Job Description
EOD Flight Support Technicians support services to United States Air Force (USAF) bases and Headquarter Staffs to include: planning, programming, and technical advice in areas of EOD readiness, mobility, force protection, operations and combat support.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review EOD technical reports and providing recommendations to management
- Conduct unit self-inspections
- Draft EOD plans and procedures
- Manage EOD mobility procedures
- Provide support in determining ground and explosive safety requirements
- Maintain EOD tools and equipment along with required equipment documentation
- Deliver EOD Flight management support in the areas of planning and programming
- Provide technical advice in the areas of EOD readiness, mobility, force protection, operations and combat support
- Develop and maintain Counter Improvised Explosive Devices (CIED) lesson plans
- Instruct CIED training and other training as required
Desired Qualifications
- Associate of Science (A.S.) degree required
- Must be able to obtain certification as an AETC instructor through an on-site training program, and to be able to maintain proficiency as a counter-IED instructor.
- Graduate of the US Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD) and hold award of the EOD Senior Badge or higher
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience performing USAF EOD and EOD Support Functional duties including but not limited to: USAF EOD Operations, Training, Exercise Evaluation, Safety, Security, and Logistics Support functions
- Honorably Discharged from military service
- Extensive knowledge of DoD and service directives, policies and guidance in support of USAF EOD operations and support functions
- Tested typing speed of 20 WPM; Intermediate Skills using Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Acrobat; AFRIMS-RDS, DCAPES, DPDRT, EODIMS, AFTR, AFEMS, ACES-PR, AFSERT, FEDLOG, BAMS, LOGMOD, GMAT, & AF-EMIS
- Must hold/maintain a DoD Security Clearance SECRET or higher
- Current state issued driver’s license
