I.M. Systems Group, Inc. (IMSG) (www.imsg.com), a science and technical company supporting U.S. Federal Government, located in Rockville, Maryland is currently seeking to hire a Support Scientist to join our team efforts to support NOAA/NESDIS/Center for Satellite Applications Research (STAR). IMSG supports STAR in applied science research and development efforts in a semi-research and semi-operational working environment along with U.S. government scientists, visiting scientists, and other contractors. This task is to support the validation of the completed Rainfall Rate algorithm by developing and using tools for evaluating the performance of the algorithm and tracing that performance back to the algorithm structure
General Requirements/Duties:
This is a short term temporary position providing support to convert the FORTRAN 77 rainfall validation tools developed at STAR to FORTRAN 90 with subsequent testing and clean-up. The initial term will end on 9/17/2015.
Qualifications:
• College degree in related science field
• Demonstrated coding experience, esp. FORTRAN90
• Knowledge and experience with satellite data processing
• Willing to learn and quick learner
• Sound communication skills and works well with other scientists
