General Purpose
Grammer Industries is currently seeking a Safety & Training Administrator to coordinate DOT and non-DOT training, as well as monitor safety and corporate compliance for various Company terminals and sites. The Safety & Training Administrator will maintain and update all Company data related to Safety and Training, including information related to DOT and OSHA requirements, as well as analyze data and provide regular reporting to management. The Safety & Training Administrator will also deliver established training’s and support the Safety & Training Director at corporate Safety meetings.
Other Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities for the position:
o Train new Company drivers, as well as Owner Operators, in all aspects of the Company’s safety policies and procedures.
o Perform regular physical inspections of corporate grounds, buildings, equipment and operations to identify hazards and incidents of regulatory non-compliance, and when necessary, recommends corrective measures.
o Administer the drug and alcohol program for both Company drivers and Owner Operators in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines, including performing collections for testing.
o Conduct claims investigations as directed by the Safety & Training Director.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Minimum of a four year degree required.
3 years of related/DOT experience preferred.
Experience with OSHA standards, inspections and reporting required.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification is desirable.
Any acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and Department of Transportation regulations required.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local loss-prevention regulations required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Ability to resolve problems in extremely pressured environment, with multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
Ability to conduct safety inspections of equipment and buildings.
Ability to organize, maintain and analyze large quantities of data.
