Position Summary:
Reporting to the Regional Property Manager, the Property Manager is responsible for general maintenance, custodial services and guest services in accordance with the council's policies and standards. This person will work closely with camp directors, volunteers, campers and staff to ensure that day and resident guests have a successful camping experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Property Management:
Perform year-round grounds maintenance with includes snow removal, trail clearing, road maintenance and lawn mowing. Ensure high curb appeal for all areas of the property
Maintain interior and exterior of property buildings including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, mechanical devices, heating, air conditioning, structure, roofing, exterior finishes, masonry, interior fittings, hardware and finishes, and flooring
Maintain equipment including, but not limited to, appliances, landscaping equipment & tools, furniture, program equipment, water craft, vehicles and tools
Monitor camp site for damage caused by weather or vandalism and report findings to Property Management
Maintain gates and posted signs to discourage unauthorized access onto camp property
Supervise appropriate property security measures, incident documentations and property notifications from supervisor and upper management
Provide support to camp directors, volunteers and staff for camp projects
Maintain septic system and plumbing schedules
Maintain all buildings at a high standard of cleanliness
Open and close all outdoor camping units by cleaning, making repairs, turning on water systems, moving equipment and winterizing pipes and water systems.
Conduct weekly physical cursory inspections of all areas of the property including buildings, recreational amenities, equipment and grounds.
Finance and Vendors:
Develop and maintain annual budget for maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment
Establish and maintain good vendor relations. Oversee the work of outside vendors to ensure professional level workmanship and budgets
Actively seek out ways to control and lower costs
Marketing and Guest Services
Assist in marketing and showing of the property to users within and outside Girl Scouts
Ensure exception guest services to all users.
Maintain good neighbor relations with property owners and managers of adjoining and nearby properties
Provide appropriate equipment to ensure a successful camping experience
Check in and check out all user groups, inspect space for damage, and when appropriate, request the area is recleaned, informing supervisor of charge backs to groups for an damages
Assist users in moving into and out of accommodations, providing leadership for volunteer helpers.
Enforce property rules and notify appropriate staff to report non-compliance
Actively seek out opportunities to maximize property usage
Compliance:
Responsible for keeping the property in compliance with governmental and association policies, informing appropriate staff of any non-compliance
Adhere to GSGCNWI policies, procedures and best practices
Additional:
Use GSGCNWI tools and procedures to maintain good corporate communication
Ensure property records and emergency procedures are up to date and accessible
Maintain inventory of all tools, equipment, and supplies
Supervise, evaluate, train and develop all site staff under your direction
Supply weekly status report to supervisor
Attend all Property Management meetings
Ensure all vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and keep records of oil, fluid, filter change and other repairs
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
Requires high school graduation, GED equivalency or equivalent relevant work experience. Technical certifications preferred
Minimum 3 - 5 years experience and demonstrated track record in camp property/facility management, maintenance, repair or construction
Management experience is preferred
Ability to live on the property is required for this position, with potential travel to other properties
