The Department of Chemistry and Geochemistry at Colorado School of Mines invites applications for an anticipated full-time Teaching Assistant or Associate Professor. This is a nine-month (academic year) non-tenure track position with some possibility of additional summer teaching, starting in August 2014.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching general chemistry and other courses in the chemistry curriculum, as well as performing service to the Department through involvement on committees, student advising and outreach. Candidates with experience in active learning pedagogies at the college level and those with an interest in developing new course content are highly encouraged to apply.
The successful applicant must be knowledgeable in advanced chemistry topics, and possess excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• At the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor applicants must possess a doctoral degree degree in chemistry or closely related field; and the demonstrated potential for successful teaching.
• At the rank of Teaching Associate Professor, applicants must possess a doctoral degree in chemistry or closely related field; and documented success in teaching.
