High level Electronics Assembly Technician to work under the direction of an Engineer or Engineering Management.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Assists hardware engineers in assembly of prototype and flight electronics and cable harnesses, testing, troubleshooting, and integrating flight electronics with mechanical components.
Fabricates test fixtures to hold flight electronics for assembly and shipment of completed product.
Works in a clean room environment.
Creates printed circuit boards and schematic documentation.
Creates and maintains detailed assembly records.
Performs monthly inventory duties for tracking and accounting purposes.
Performs incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections of parts and assemblies per industry standards.
Coordinates with vendors to ensure that labs are properly cleaned and equipment is maintained/serviced/calibrated, as needed.
Requires excellent hand soldering, harness wiring, cable building, documentation, organization, and communication skills. Must read schematics and mechanical drawings.
Computer skills required are MS Excel and Word.
Hands-on machinist experience for manufacturing test fixtures is a plus.
Layout and schematic capture skills a plus.
Physical requirements include high attention to detail, good visual acuity and excellent manual dexterity. Must be capable of consistently performing high-quality solder assembly on high-value flight-critical assemblies with minimal defects.
Utilizes standard laboratory test equipment such as digital multimeters, thermal chambers, and other measurement equipment to perform engineering support functions.
Will be required to become NASA certified assembler.
Minimum of 5 years experience.
For this position, U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required for government contract work.
