Working collaboratively with the product management team, the business/pricing analyst plays a key role in developing and revising pricing model and optimizing pricing strategies and policies for the company. The analyst’s duties also include researching and updating competitive database and managing spare parts business. The position requires close coordination with finance, sales, purchasing and other internal organizations.
•Maintain real-time cost data and provide analysis to facilitate pricing decision making
•Perform margin and pricing analysis to support key business initiatives as required
•Identify price/margin erosion and assist in developing and implementing solutions.
•Prepare quarterly reports that include price/margin trends, risks, opportunities and issues
•Work with marketing management to devise, revise and review pricing model
•Ensure that the model aligns and conforms with the corporate profit goals and guidelines
•Projects impact of pricing changes, individual promotions programs on revenue
•Manage the price list and coordinate implementing/updating new pricing policies
•Assist product managers determine costs and set prices for new products
•Maintains contact with field sales to determine pricing trends in the marketplace
•Research, maintain and update competitors’ product, performance and pricing database
•Perform competitive analysis and make the information available to Sales and Marketing
•Support product managers develop cost of ownership (COO) models
•Lead annual pricing review for spare parts and recommend price adjustments
•Perform any additional duties as directed.
•Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering or equivalent
•Minimum 3 years experience in accounting, finance or marketing; experience as Business/Pricing Analyst in the tech industry preferred.
•Proficiency in MS Excel modeling and other pricing and analysis tools
•Strong quantitative and analytical skills
•Strong presentation and written and oral communications skills
•Product-related financial modeling or pricing experience desired
•Ability to work within multi-disciplinary work setting
•Ability to work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds
