IS Coordinator/Intern

The goal of the Information Systems (IS) Coordinator/Intern is to assist the IT Director and Site Operations team to provide support for daily technology requests Garden-wide. Assignments are of moderate scope and complexity; work is performed with a limited amount of independence, with progress and results checked by a supervisor.
Responsibilities include: Responding to requests from computer users regarding IT hardware, software, radio and telecommunications, or network connection problems or questions; resolving problems or providing "how-to" instructions using a variety of online monitoring and diagnostic software tools, reference manuals, vendors, and on-the-job experience; working directly with IT Service Partner to advise users of the on-going status of their request(s), and placing follow-up calls to ensure that satisfactory service was provided; working under general direction within established procedures and policies, while maintaining accurate records and logs; providing technical support in the configuration, setup and break down of audio/visual equipment for events, programs and facility rentals; having technical ability to perform minor troubleshooting and repair of equipment; executing and successfully completing technology-related work orders; coordinating office adds/moves/changes with limited supervision, and working collectively with outside contractors, vendors, service partners and internal DBG staff; and effectively performing preventive maintenance tasks on the Garden’s technology systems and related infrastructure.
Requirements include completion of a designated training program or graduation from a recognized technical/programming school/junior college; completion of an Associates Applied Science (AAS), Vocational or Military technical program in Electronics and Computer Technology; knowledge of computer desktop, server and network support; proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications; good written and oral communication skills; exemplary customer service skills and ability to work weekends and a variety of shifts.
