Military Experience is required
Scope of Position
Responsible for new product introduction and the profitable growth of the product offer to the Military marketplace.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Analysis of data to establish a plan for new product investigation
- Working with existing vendors and establishing relationships with new vendors
- New product research and development
- Price negotiations and initial order preparation
- Catalog page analysis, square inch analysis and product positioning
- Internet page analysis and product positioning
- Development of promotions for all channels of the business
- Interaction with the creative team in the catalog creation process
- Working with the Purchasing department to create a framework for the efficient management of Inventory
- Creation of a strategic Merchandising plan
- Management of relationships with Licensors (US Army, USMC, USAF, etc)
- Work with creative team to develop propriety art driven product lines (i.e. T-shirts, Hats, etc…)
- Management of Brand ID from a product perspective
- Travel to trade shows and Orient
Requirements
- Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration or Marketing
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in a buyer/merchant position
- Previous military experience
- Must have excellent organizational skills
- Have an existing network of vendors
- Be willing to travel 25% of the time
- Orient travel experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft software products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint…)
- Ability to manage the paperwork necessary in the importing process
- Clear understanding of profit margin calculations and Return On Investment
- Experience with supply chain management
